With the solo exhibition «Sichtlinien des Möglichen (Sightlines of the Possible)», the Deutsche Gesellschaft für christliche Kunst e.V. presents recent works by Austrian artist Brigitte Kowanz (*1957, Vienna).
The prelude to the exhibition is the inauguration of a work conceived specifically for our spaces, commissioned by the DG with the association «Ausstellungshaus für christliche Kunst e.V.». The light installation consists of three interacting cubes of two-way mirrors, mirrors and neon signs, which reproduce the text «Sichtlinien des Möglichen». The sculpture is located in the interior of the gallery and opens up to the exterior via the glass façade, producing a perceptible sign of light within the streets. It is the first work of art that works as a long-term coining to the new spaces at Finkenstraße.
In the exhibition, a new series of works by Brigitte Kowanz can be discovered: drawings that evolve from the text «Sichtlinien des Möglichen» and reinterpret the letters as architecture. Furthermore, wall-mounted showcases and a floor sculpture immerse the large exhibition space in blue light.
